Marin County Fair
The Marin County (where we live) fair has been on the past 5 days and we decided to go along on Monday afternoon. Its open 10am - 11pm and is a mixture of fairground (rides 'n stuff - like back home), food places, crafts, agriculture and animals for the kids, etc etc. Theres also a live gig and a fireworks display in the evening. So we went mid afternoon, saw the show, ate, then went along to the gig (the kids lasted that long!). Pat Benatar was playing that night - yes, Pat Benatar from the 80's : Love is A Battlefield etc - and played a great set of old rock stuff with a mixture of unplugged and blues numbers. The fireworks were excellent too - Karina was literally stunned by them (picture a 3 year old, eyes and mouth wide open in awe - thats it!). She loved the rides too. All in all a very nice day.

whereas we had 300,000 people trying to listen to jazz... or african music
