More NBA goodness
Oh yeah, amid the relocation and work madness I did manage to get out to Oakland last week to see the godly Miami heat playing the local lads - the Golden State Warriors. Considering the Warriors seem to manage to lose far more than they deserve, the fans give the team amazing support. Even when Miami were up almost 30 points in the 4th quarter, the place was still packed. Anyway it was nice to see the boys stomp all over the west coast in their trip last week, not least of all was this 118-96 victory, and of course to walk out of Oracle Arena and past the Oakland Raiders stadium, with a contented grin, resplendant in my Heat colours. Lovely!

Homeward bound
So with the recent arrival of Kyles "papers" (thats how the KGB refer to them - right Nat?), we're headed back to the UK for some well deserved alcohol and cury abuse. Its been a long time - but we're heading out in mid March. Mind you, it kinda sucks as I need to take unpaid leave (the perils of changing jobs) so we'll be sans-3 weeks wage and have a huge airline and beer bill to pay but - life is good :)
Wildlife - its everywhere!
Driving to Target (you know - the store I mentioned) a week or so ago we were gtreeted by 3 wild deer at the side of the road, going about their business. And some buzzards flying overhead. A related incident? You decide. Here are some deer, to demonstrate the encounter:
A Yank in the family
Kyle got his passport - he's officially an American traveller. Is that good? I'll let the jury decide. Anyway one thing I'll say is - the US passports are extremely pretty - way better than our slightly camp pink affairs. So next "job" is - get Kyle "one of those slightly camp, pink affairs". Its only fair.
Damn, where did the time go?
Sheesh... last time I updated this was... last year! Where did the time go? I'll tell you where - life. Yeah, sometimes life dtuies take over a little and the last month has been just such a time. The move to the new accommodation seemed to go quite smoothly but the aftermath is still happening... you know, finding a home for everything, putting up shelving, making multiple trips to Target (thats a store) and Home Depot (B&Q) to find storage units, finding our way around the area, getting paperwork sorted and taking care of Kyles passport. We're starting to come through the worst of it now but to be honest, every weeked seems to be entirely filled out for me before it happens. Of course the NFL playoffs don't help that... this weekend its the 2 championship games then in 2 weeks its the SuperBowl then in 3 weeks - my weekends return! If my wife is reading this... hiya love, see what you can think of to occupy that 2 day void in my schedule - you have 3 weeks to come up with something interesting :)
