A long weekend approaches!
Well, for some of us. The rest of us sad, disillusioned video games developers actually have a short weekend. No Presidents Day holiday Monday (I still can't shake calling it a "Bank Holiday!"), no Sunday... I'm working both. We have been told we are now working "mandatory Saturdays" (or Sundays in my case) till April at least. Nice eh? So I get one day off and I spend it looking after the kids as Nat is at work that day. I guess I'll see my wife in April then... groovy.Enough bitterness and twistedness.
So last weekend we were at the beach and Karina was playing in the sand when she looked up, spotted one of these walking towards her:
And shouted "look - a polar bear!". Too funny!!!! :)
Anyway this week is GDC (Game Developers Conference) and I got a one day pass - wooooow! I shouldnt be too sarcastic really - its the first time in 12 years in this damned industry anyone ever even got me that much, so... I guess I'm excited. Some guys from my last "nightmare-never-to-repeat-please-take-these-violent-thoughts-from-my-head" employer are presenting at the show... funny stuff, I wonder if they speak to me? And you all know I'll be so broken up if they don't :)
My good friend Mr Bell (Bellsey to those-in-the-know) is in town too which is sweeet and ace and super cool. We're hopefully hanging out at the office party on Tuesday so - well, it could get messy - Brit style!
